Sound mind. Sound body. 24/02/10

What sound do you hear? Are you listening to your heart? What is your body telling you? Are you really listening or just going through the motions? Some days I go through the motions and other days I try to listen to what my heart and body are telling me.
It’s not easy.
This whole weight loss journey is hard. There is no magic formula to make it happen other than your own determination, hard work and commitment to a healthier new you. But there can be magic. You just have to find it. An author by the name of Evelyn Bielenson wrote this:
In the midst of our lives, we must find the magic that makes our souls soar!
Think about that. Really think about it. What makes your soul soar?
In the midst of my very busy life I’ve begun to find the magic again. I’ve found inspiration and passion again that I thought I had lost. The trick for me is balancing it all out. If you learn to balance you will succeed. I’m getting better at balancing these past seventeen weeks. It’s taken time and I’ve had good and bad days. Ultimately, I’ve tried to be as consistent as possible and that is what is working for me. I take time now to reflect and re-evaluate what works for me and what hasn’t. I take time to breathe. I take time to realize that today and everyday I’m a woman, mother, friend, wife and lover of life. There are other things I aspire to be, am working on being and will be. Balance is key.
Sound mind. Sound body.
The truth is there is magic in all of us. You must find it, but not only find it, believe in and choose it. Believe that anything is possible. Tap into your magic and reach out. On bad days, I’ve realized, after it rains the sun always comes out. Eventually. If you’re really lucky you’ll see a rainbow. On those days you must believe in rainbows. You must believe in finding the pot of gold, whatever your gold is, and your soul will soar.

Balancing is hard for me too. I have a 2yo and I just never know what kind of schedule I will have each day. I am trying to be as consistant as I can be. thanks for the post and reminder.
Listening to your body is something that most moms like us have sadly put the least in our priorities. We tend to get consumed with the busy lives that we have. And then we get overwhelmed, burned out, and some us may seek food for comfort. And the unhealthy cycle begins.
Listening to our body is a very basic and simple thing that we need to put the highest on our priority list. A personal quote of mine states that:
“Realize that putting ourselves first is not being selfish, but ensuring we’re always at best for the people we love and value the most”.

What? My body talks to me….no really? If I could just get my kids to be quiet for one moment I might actually hear it!!
I find that I’m always feeling like I’m going out of my mind. I honestly can’t remember the last time I sat down and did a devotion or had some real time with God.
I’m trying hard to work on a balance of life and ME! Thanks for talking about this
Ahh.. balance. It is something that we all strive for. Balance definitely “is key.” Glad to hear that you are finding it in your life and choosing to find the magic in your life!
What a great post! Your words always inspire me. I don’t know what my gold is to be honest. I find that I like to try all kinds of new things. Maybe trying new things is my gold… I always feel amazing when I take a new adventure.
You rock. listening to our bodies are so important.
Balance is something I don’t have yet. I’m more of an all or nothing type person. It really does make things difficult!
Balance! Oh what is that!!
